OHSU Study Validates Deep Brain Surgery While Asleep for Parkinson's Patients

(November 6, 2017) - Most brain surgeons in the U.S. perform Deep Brain Stimulation surgery with patients awake the whole time. At Oregon Health Science University, neurologists have been doing awake surgeries since 2011. New research from OHSU found that clinical outcomes for the asleep version of the procedure measure up to the awake variety. Read more
